Who We Are

Thanks for being here!

Read all about who we are and how we operate in order to serve our community with the needs of orphaned, neglected and abused animals in the City of Fayetteville and all of Lincoln County.

Our story

In 1985, the Humane Society of Lincoln County was formed and registered as a non-profit 501c3 organization to address many issues involving the conditions of the current animal shelter and the needs of animals all over the city and county. Along with addressing those issues, we also took over investigating cases of animal cruelty which we currently still do today.

We continue to ensure that our main focus is the needs of the animals in the community and finding forever homes for those at our shelter.

We could never achieve all that we do without the help of your donations and our volunteers. While we are partially funded by the city and county, over 60% of our funding comes from other resources such as private donations, adoption fees, fundraisers, and grants. Utilities, employee expenses, maintenance, equipment, and various licenses are just a few examples of what your donations provide.
